GHANA – Popular musician William Kojo Johnson known in showbiz circles as Stay Jay says it is not difficult for him to release hit songs since he has written many of such songs for other musicians.
“It’s not difficult because I will say I’m not just a musician, performer, songwriter, composer and I have done a couple of songs for people that still Ghanaians are jamming to.
“These songs are award winning songs,” he said.
Speaking to Doreen Avio, the ‘Shashee Wowo’ hit maker mentioned some hits such as ‘Neke Neke’ by Tiffany and ‘Ye Wo Krom’ by Atom as some of the many songs he has written for other artistes.
Stay Jay also stated that parting ways with his old management has not affected him in any way and he is not ready to work with them anymore since he has moved on.
He explained further asserting that his two-year contract with his old management ended and he signed.
“We signed a two-year contract so when the contract ended, everybody decided to move on.
“So I signed a new contract before they called me and I couldn’t terminate the new contract so we just moved on but we are friends. We are cool,” he said.
The Best New Artiste Award Winner at the 2012 VGMAs was, however, quick to add that should his current contract with his new management end and he gets a call back from his old management, he will willingly go back.
He also added that he is presently putting things together with his new management team and will soon release an album.
The ‘Sue’ hit maker says though he is now not married, he is off the market and will soon tie the knot with his sweetheart.
Stay Jay has three albums to his credit with hit songs such as ‘Sue’, ‘Tswaa mi lala’ and ‘Shashee Wowo’ and is presently working on a fourth which includes a soon-to-be-released single with Kuami Eugene
